Indian Philharmonic Orchestra

India’s emergence as a dominant economic power is enhanced and supported by the international acceptance and acknowledgement of India’s cultural richness, diversity and depth.

It is indeed surprising that in a nation that boasts of music tradition of over 5000 years and has to it’s merit over 400 unique musical instruments, we do not have a formal face to bridge the musical understanding of the West and India.

With the objective of discovering, nurturing and providing a platform to the unique instruments of music in India and exposing the west to the depth of cultural richness and taken that lies in the hinterland of the country, we plan to discover, form and nurture India’s first philharmonic orchestra: The Indian Philharmonic Orchestra.

This orchestra will be unique in it’s basic composition, such that it will be the first orchestra in the world to have a mix of traditional western and Asian instruments. Something that only India can do. No other country in the world can do this.

As a first step to achieving this objective, we are embarking on a national hunt for discovering the talent that rural India shall be able to provide. Classical musicians, folk musicians, Instruments that provide unique sounds, western instrument players and talent that is waiting to find it’s place under the sun. This 26 week journey shall take us thru real India to discover talent that is pure, unique and Indian. We will hold the 1st concert on 15th august 2017, to commemorate our 70th anniversary of independence.
